At the Prometheus mission briefing, an older Peter Weyland appears in a recorded message and describes the synthetic David as the closest thing he has to a son. Weyland himself is later revealed to be aboard, pursuing the same creators sought by the expedition’s scientists for very different reasons.
The white emblem belongs to his company’s blue-and-white corporate identity, before the Weyland-Yutani name takes over.
