Weyland-Yutani—usually shortened to The Company—sits behind spacecraft, synthetics, colonies and industrial operations throughout the Alien universe. Its wonderfully optimistic motto is “Building Better Worlds.” Its repeated interest in the xenomorph species makes that promise considerably less comforting for people such as Ellen Ripley, the Nostromo crew and the colonists of LV-426.
The original Alien uses the spelling Weylan-Yutani in background material. Later films standardised the name as Weyland-Yutani, which is the version embroidered on this cap.
