“Altered Beast” is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up arcade game developed and published by Sega. Released in 1988, it gained popularity for its unique transformation mechanic and atmospheric setting.

The game takes place in Ancient Greece, where players control a resurrected centurion tasked with rescuing the kidnapped daughter of Zeus from the clutches of the evil god of the underworld, Neff. To achieve this, the centurion must collect spirit orbs by defeating various enemies throughout different stages.
