Black Mesa Research Facility (BMRF) is the headquarters of the Black Mesa research corporation, and the primary setting of the Half-Life game and its 3 expansions.
Black Mesa undertakes research in various fields from radiation, rocketry, theoretical physics, lasers, experimental propulsion, hydraulics, robotics, hydroelectricity, genetics, zoology, applied mathematics, and a very wide spectrum of research into chemistry and physics. It is located in New Mexico, and the chief competitor of Aperture Science.
